Custom Laser Engraving & Laser Cutting

Two-color phenolic plastic labels are commonly used in the electrical industry. These labels and tags are perfect for labeling electrical panels and shutoff boxes.
Laser cutting excels at cutting reusable custom stencils. We cut our stencils from a 10mil (0.01″) thick semi-translucent Mylar plastic. (similar to drafting Mylar, but thicker)
Two-color plastic is engraved with a name and/or logo. Custom sizes and shapes can easily be cut by our laser. Magnetic or pin back is added to name tags for fastening. Wall and desk holders available for name plaques.
Stamps are made on a laser engraver? Yes, yes they are. We laser cut your message into stamp rubber, and apply it to Trodat or Ideal stamp bodies. Need something more custom? Wood block stamps are also available.
Laser engraving and cutting is well suited for wood. As laser engraving darkens wood similar to wood burning, lighter colored woods work best. Let us provide the wood or provide your own.
What Is Laser Engraving?
Laser engraving or laser etching is a subtractive process. A laser is used to remove layers from the surface of the material. The laser hits localized areas with massive levels of energy to generate high enough heat to vaporize part of the material.
During laser cutting the laser follows a line or cut path, concentrating enough heat to cut straight through the material.
What Can Be Laser Engraved?

With Kalispell Copy Center’s current equipment wood & plastics can be both engraved & cut.
Laser engraving usually darkens wood, similar to wood burning. So a light-colored wood gives the best contrast.
Acrylic, polycarb, & other non-PVC based plastics engrave & cut well with laser engravers.
We currently do not have the capability to cut or engrave metal. We can remove coatings from metal, such as paint, enamel, or anodization, exposing the metal below. Black painted brass or anodized aluminum both engrave very well.
